ACUL Educational Services 

Educational Services coordinates and
co-sponsors programs aimed at addressing the educational and training needs of your credit union and its staff. The department’s primary goal is to ensure all segments of the Alabama credit union movement – managers, volunteers, and staff – have access to high quality educational programming.

 

 

Services provided by the department include:

Seminars and Workshops. Monthly seminars are held on a variety of topics such as: Lending, Collections, Bank Secrecy, IRA’s, Trust Accounts, Marketing, and Regulatory Compliance.

Conferences. The department coordinates the League Annual Meeting, the Supervisory Committee Conference and the Development Conference. Each of these events provides attendees with networking opportunities, vendor exposure, and a variety of educational sessions instructed by national speakers.

Customized Training. On a fee-based structure, the department offers customized training for credit union personnel, designed to meet your credit union’s specific needs.

Webinars and E-schools. Through a cooperative partnership with the Credit Union National Association, Alabama credit unions have access to hundreds of on-line educational offerings through Webinars and E-schools.

Self-Study Courses. The same partnership with CUNA also provides Alabama credit unions access to the Staff Training and Recognition Program (STAR); Management Enrichment Training Program (MERIT); Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP); Regulatory Training and Certification Program (REGTRAC); and the Certified Credit Union Executive Program (CCUE.)

SRCUS Events. The Education department co-sponsors two events with nine other southeastern states: the Southeast Credit Union Management School and the Southeast Director’s Conference.

NEFE, the National Endowment for Financial Education High School Financial Planning Program is a fully developed curriculum that consists of six units designed to teach financial education to teens. The program is supported by the credit union industry and provided at no cost.

The Education Foundation helps smaller credit unions achieve their educational goals by providing tuition scholarships for League, CUNA, and SRCUS events.
