APCO Employees Credit Union recently presented a check for $8,500 to Children's Hospital of Alabama. The Credit Union raised the money at their second annual APCO Credit Union for Kids charity golf tournament held at Grayson Valley Country Club. Over 70 golfers participated and 35 sponsors were involved in this year's tournament. This is the ninth consecutive year the Credit Union has worked to benefit Children's Hospital.

         Golfers Brent Duhon, Brock Thompkins, Mark Sadie, and Joe Hyatt finished as the 1st Place Net winners of the MAX4Kids tournament.
7th annual golf tournament raises more than $43,000 for MAX4Kids Foundation
The MAX4Kids Foundation, sponsored by MAX, Your Community Credit Union!, hosted its 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Legislator Course in Prattville, Alabama on Thursday, October 20th. This year's tournament set a record-breaking fundraising level of $43,430.00 for the MAX4Kids Foundation. Wayne Blackwell, president of the MAX4Kids Foundation, comments, “The annual golf tournament is our largest fundraiser of the year. The focus of the tournament is not on a great game of golf, but on the impact the Foundation's support can have by truly making a difference in the lives of children in our area. Each time MAX4Kids supports one of our local children's charities, we have the opportunity to create smiles and memories that can change a child's life.” The MAX4Kids Foundation assists children of Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery counties through scholarship programs and donations to various charitable organizations. The Foundation has donated over $125,000 to children's charities, and has distributed $50,000 in college scholarships for deserving high-school seniors.

Community Credit Union recently held a ribbon cutting and Grand Opening its new branch in Rainsville. Credit union board members and staff members were joined by representatives of the Rainsville Chamber of Commerce and local officials for the ribbon cutting. The new Rainsville branch is located at 67 Roy Sanderson Avenue.
Phenix Pride Federal Credit Union celebrated the ground breaking for their new facility on November 20, 2006. The new large, brick building will afford the credit union a facility that will enable them to better serve the needs of their members in a prime location. The credit union hopes to open their doors at the new location in late February, 2007. Pictured are Kimberly Nichols, Phenix Pride CEO and members of the credit union's board of directors.
Coosa Pines holds Grand Opening for Pell City branch
Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union held a Grand Opening celebration at its new Pell City location on Friday, August 4, 2006. The new branch is located on Stemley Bridge Road across from the Civic Center.Many local officials attended the opening, including Pell City Council Member J.T. Carter, who cut the ribbon. Celebrities from WTDR radio broadcast live on location from 11am to 1pm. In addition, there were cash giveaways on the hour, a drawing for a grand prize, and refreshments provided throughout the day. This is the fourth branch for the Childersburg-based credit union.

MAX, Your Community Credit Union! welcomes Alabama Governor Bob Riley as a MAX member
Alabama Governor Bob Riley became one of MAX's newest members, opening a share account, during his visit to the Eastdale office on Wednesday, August 2nd.

MAX associates were pleasantly surprised by the Governor's visit as he took time to meet MAX associates and to tour the facility. MAX associate Nancy Reams, Manager of Quality Assurance, invited the Governor to become a member of MAX. The Governor was surprised that he could join MAX for only $6 and signed his account paperwork before he left the credit union.

TVA Credit Union celebrates ribbon cutting
The ribbon cutting ceremony for TVA Credit Union's new branch on Dr. Hicks Boulevard in downtown Florence was held on Thursday, August 3rd. In attendance at the ribbon cutting were credit union officials, staff and members as well as representatives of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce and Bobby E. Irons, mayor of Florence. Grand opening activities were held at the branch throughout the first week of August as members enjoyed coffee, doughnuts, popcorn and a variety of giveaways. More than 250 members enjoyed a lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers on Wednesday and a local radio station broadcast live from the branch on Thursday afternoon.
